Composition is the arrangement of visual images that creates a pattern for the eye to follow. The Gestalt Design Principles make up common compositions, and the principles are as follows: closure, similarity, proximity, continuance and alignment. In my example below, I used a Z Layout composition to create a pleasing organization of content.
